Little is known of Charles Blair at this time. He was a pilot and it appears that he joined the squadron in late Dec. 1942 when the squadron was detached to RAF Chivenor and flying the B-17 Fortress. It appears that Blair and his crew (who had trained for operations of Hudson aircraft - crew of four) were combined with another crew (that of F/O Neville Barson RAAF). view Blair and crew and view combined crew when the squadron began opeartions on the B-24 Liberator (crew of 8-10). It is noted that Blair received his DFC whilst in service with 59 Sqn. |
