(Peter Catley)

Little is known of F/L Catley at this time. The ORB shows that he was with the Squadron in May 1943.

Update August 2014: Recently contacted by Peter, Jack's son who sent in the following...

"Jack's log book says he was with 59 Squadron GRLR from 15 May 43 until 7 June 44. He flew in Liberator Vs stationed at Nutts Corner, Aldergrove and Ballykelly in Northern Ireland. During his time with 59 he logged 302.20 hours with the squadron and appears to have completed 9 operational missions."

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch Peter, much appreciated.

12/04/1944: Jack was aboard a Liberator that caught on fire as the crew came into land. They landed safely but the other navigator, F/O Stephenson was injured by a rotating propellor as they disembarked. (read more)
