Little is known of F/O Cock at this time. He was a pilot on the squadron from late 1943 to 1`945.

According to the Australian National Archives, RAAF personnel records, he was born on 9th July 1902 in Adelaide, South Australia and enlisted in Adelaide.

Given that his service number begins with a "1", it is assumed that Ernest was serving with the RAAF prior to the outbreak of war in 1939. Given his age, it's possible that he had earlier served in the 1920's and re-enlisted for operations during WW2. He may have even seen service in the last year of WW1, aged 16?
