Little
is known of F/S Wood at this time. He was an observer when he and
his fellow crew members were killed after their Blenheim was shot
down by a destroyer off Gravelines. view

He flew with P/O Wenman during the Battle of Britain.
In
late 1940/early 1941, George Wood contacted the mother of Sgt.
John Woodcock (a fellow observer on the Squadron), after the
latter was lost after a mission to Lorient on 23/11/1940. They exchanged
several letters before July 1941.
