Little is known of Lt. Philip Benticnk Boyd. He was pilot during Bloody April, when on the 13th, his aircraft and five others of 59 Squadron were shot down by Jasta 11, commanded by the Red Baron. He was from Scotland.

He is mentioned here - in a tribute to his observer/gunner - 2nd Lt. Philip Oliphant Ray

Son of John Gamble Boyd, of 35 Elgin Avenue, Toronto, Ontario; husband of Dorothea S. K. Richardson (formerly Boyd). He had also served with the Gordon Highlanders. source
