Little is known of Lt. Horne at this time. He was an Australian pilot flying one of five 59 Sqn RE.8's shotdown by Jasta 11 on 13/04/1917. He and his observer/gunner Lt. Chalk failed to return. They were flying RE.8 A4191.
The CWGC states the following:
13th April 1917.Second Lieutenant Herbert George Macmillan Horne 24/1/1898-13/4/1917. He graduated as a pilot on 31 October 1916 and on that day was attached to the 49th Sqdn RFC and then on the 28th January was attached to the 59th Squadron, Royal Flying Corps.
