Little is known of Lt. Wood at this time. He was observer/gunner for Cpt. James Stuart, an Australian pilot, when the were shotdown by Manfred von Richtofen on the 13/04/1977. On this day an entire flight of 6 RE.8's were lost to Jasta 11, led by the Baron.
